In memory of ....
In 1970, I was one of the first disco deejays in Poland, but I was the first and only one to seek contacts with organizations, magazines and deejays from the UK and USA. I wrote to many and many replied to me. Contacts and cooperation were established, for which I was persecuted by the secret political police [SB] in communist Poland. Because of short articles about me in the English disco/DJ press, the police searched my house. Magazines and records received from record companies and DJ colleagues were confiscated from me. My prizes were also confiscated.
These days were difficult times. Between friends from the UK such as: Ben Cree, Theo Loyla, Tony Hadland, Dougall DJ, etc. – there was also Rob Harknett, who sent me an advertising card for his disco where he was with his beautiful wife. We kept in touch for quite a long time, but then it fell silent, only to renew itself in 2007.
At that time, I was writing a book about the history of disco and deejays, "Silent Records", containing over 130 interviews with disco pioneers from around the world. One of the interviews and stories in this book is that of Rob Harknett. The book is gigantic and that's why I wrote it for almost 10 years. It was published in 2016 as an eBook/CD-Rom. Rob helped me by providing me with some old disco/DJ magazines from the UK.

I realize that my world is slowly passing away. It's natural, but somehow it doesn't suit me, it makes me sad and melancholy... It's hard to come to terms with it. It always seemed to me that we disco pioneers would live and live and continue to live - until suddenly the death of another one of us makes me realize that it will be soon, very soon...
